Engineered by our company, the hydrocyclone sand recovery unit is a next-generation solution for efficient tailings management. Unlike conventional tailings recovery machines, this system delivers higher capacity and superior recovery efficiency. It concentrates wastewater from sand washers and dewatering screens, separates valuable fine sand through the hydrocyclone, and returns it to the dewatering screen for blending with finished sand—ensuring minimal material loss. The adjustable sand ratio feature gives operators full control over product gradation, helping produce high-quality sand while reducing waste and increasing profitability.
Working Principle of Our Hydrocyclone
A hydrocyclone is a separation device that uses centrifugal force to classify, concentrate, or recover fine particles from slurry. When the slurry is pumped into the cylindrical section of the hydrocyclone under pressure, it forms a downward spiral (vortex). The high-speed rotation generates strong centrifugal forces, which separate particles according to size and density.
Coarser and heavier particles are forced outward against the wall of the hydrocyclone and move downward to discharge through the underflow (apex).
Finer and lighter particles follow the inner spiral upward and exit through the overflow (vortex finder) along with most of the water.
This process enables efficient separation of fine sand from wastewater, improving recovery rates, minimizing material loss, and ensuring stable product quality.
