Working Principle
The spiral sand washer, also known as a screw sand washing machine, operates by using a rotating spiral blade to clean and classify sand. The machine consists of a tank, a spiral screw, a gearbox, and a motor.
When the spiral shaft rotates, the spiral blade stirs the sand and water mixture inside the tank. Impurities such as dust, clay, and silt are removed as the sand is agitated and carried upward by the rotating screw. Cleaned sand is then gradually pushed up to the discharge end of the tank, while dirty water and fine particles overflow from the weir and are discharged through the drainage outlet.
The gentle stirring action and low-speed rotation ensure minimal loss of fine sand and effective cleaning, making it ideal for sand and gravel washing, construction aggregate production, and mineral processing.
